“The Forever War,” the first single released on Love Minus 80, was solely inspired by a novel of the same name released in 1974 by author Joe Haldeman. The military science fiction novel tells the story of a group of soldiers fighting an interstellar war against an alien civilization but is also a love story between two soldiers attempting to find each other again after being separated literally through time and space. Bunny X was particularly inspired by this aspect of the novel and the single, The Forever War, is the end result.

On a personal note, Abigail of Bunny X’s dad got her into science fiction a number of years ago and lent her his copy of The Forever War, which she currently still has in her possession.
