This was one of the first tracks to be completed on the album and is not sci-fi inspired. However, the premise of the song is quite dark and twisted as it depicts a relationship that has long since soured and become toxic. Here, the protagonist recalls a “silver haze” of happier times but since the relationship has been on a downward spiral for so long, it’s hard to tell if those early halcyon days were all that great to begin with. Here, the protagonist is asking for what they truly need: something, or someone, to rely on and to trust.
