Good Love Gone Bad was the first track completed on Love Minus 80 and was written on a cold and quiet December day in 2021. Not unlike Something to Rely On, this track also considers themes of love and loss, betrayal, regret and acceptance. Here, acceptance comes from finally learning and understanding that, even though the relationship itself may no longer be viable, the residual from such intensely experienced feelings often remains in the heart and psyche for an extended period of time, maybe even forever. Accordingly, sometimes the best armor with which to wage such a war over one’s emotions is to simply accept defeat.
